It never ceases to amaze me just how great of a writer Ms. Gray is. Quite often I am reluctant to pick up one of her books and read, I'm not sure why as I enjoy every one of them. However as soon as I read one I'm instantly hooked again. Fateful was no exception. While very different from the Evernight series, the writing is still just as good. While this is clearly a standalone book, or at least it really needs to stay that way even if we're living in a world where one book never really tells the full story, I'm not against her writing more stories similar to this. The concept of taking a historical fascination and placing a supernatural spin on it is unique and can actually make history much more interesting in some cases.
