When I first saw this book I wasn't sure what to think. The premise sounded promising, but the reviews were mediocore. I decided to give this book a shot anyway, and I'm glad I did. This book has a lot of set up (which I don't normally enjoy so much) but leaves the reader excited for the sequel that will soon be coming out. Granted this book truly is not worth a 5-star rating, but the sequel most definitely has the potential for 5-stars. I didn't find it to be terribly boring or slow, but instead it was well paced and had just enough "action" to keep you reading. Is it the best YA book I've read this year? No, definitely not. But it is certainly one of the better YA books I've read in the last couple of months.
